Most universities will have sections on their websites for students with children but these are rarely easy to find unless to use the site search. Some unis will also provide family accommodation and this makes the move A LOT easier. If the uni does not provide accommodation for families then you face the massive obstacle of finding somewhere privately rented. You could do Open Univeristy courses so you wont have to move.
Neither the government or the Job Centre will provide any funding at all to help a young parent or a couple with a child move to university. Which is the main problem as to why hardly any parents bother going. An alternative source of finance are private trusts and grants, where you fit certain criteria and usually apply by letter to see if you can get funding. This however is time consuming and can take days to work through. I’ve included to the left links for you to see regarding parents at university, but due to the tripling of costs in 2012; it will be more difficult to encourage parents to enrol next year as the debts will be so high.

Going to uni is something that most young parents believe isn’t possible, but it is.
While you are a full time student at university you are not entitled to normal benefits as you would be sat home doing nothing (apart from Child Tax Credits). The main line of financial support for you will be Student Finance like any other student.
Although Student Finance is a lot less than usual benefits, you would usually be entitled to special grants. These include maintenance grants and special support grants. As well as this you should be entitled to a parents learning allowance grant and a childcare grant to help with nursery fees while you study.
