““People think young mums are useless, just because you are young doesn’t mean anything, no matter what your age is you can always be a good mum.”” Danielle

““I was 15 when I had my daughter, and I am fed up with people thinking that because I had my daughter so young that I am a slapper and on drugs and only got pregnant so that I could get benefits. Why are some people just so small minded? I am now 22 and my daughter is my world, I put her before anything, I work and my partner works, we do not get any benefits and we do not take drugs shoplift or sleep about. I think all young mums need to be respected; after all we are mums, just younger than some.”” Sarah xxx

I'm sick and tired of people giving me nasty looks when I take my baby out to do the shopping or whatever! I look after my little girl just fine, I'm well aware I'm 15 but I know how to care for her and people assume I don't and it makes me upset. Leilah

I fell pregnant at 16, since then, I got 10 A-C GCSEs, my partner and I are still happily engaged, he has a full time job, I am self-employed and applying to become a child minder so I can remain a full time mum, we have our own mortgage, have never received benefits, we paid for everything we have and are trying for our second baby. Everyone thought I'd ruined my life but having my son has only made us a success. We deserve credit not criticism. Hazel

I am a young mum myself and I think we are great mums. Stand up and speak up, we know we can do it, don't let them say other wise. Chelsea

I am an 18 year old mum to my son who is 10 months. I have always worked and am working at present but I am trying to find a college or school that helps teen mums but have realized there is not a lot out there. Do we have no rights to an education as a young mum? Stacey
